Case Study Workshop: An engineer's guide to alternative financing and procurement projects

SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCUTRE ANNOUNCED BY THE ONTARIO AND federal governments presents tremendous opportunities for engineering and construction firms. Aimed at new engineering graduates as well as engineers with intermediate-level experience, this half-day workshop will explore the roles and responsibilities of engineers in alternative financing and procurement projects as well as the consulting engineering process. The workshop will use a case-study approach, based on the experiences of the nearly completed Durham Consolidated Courthouse in Oshawa, Ontario. Participants will also have ample opportunity to learn about Infrastructure Ontario’s alternative financing and procurement process and its commitment to the renewal of Ontario hospitals, courthouses, roads, bridges, water systems and other public assets—on time and within budget.
